Public Washrooms
Access to public washrooms, particularly after regular business hours, has been an ongoing concern in Edmonton, including within the hospitality destinations of Whyte and Jasper Avenues. The City of Edmonton took steps to address this issue with washroom programs in both areas.
Whyte Avenue
A permanent multi-toilet facility is located at the NE corner of Whyte Avenue and Gateway Boulevard (east across from the Strathcona Hotel).
A temporary urinal is located at the South Scona Parking Lot (SE corner of 81 Avenue and 105 Street, across from The Keg).
A temporary toilet is located in the alley by Army & Navy on Whyte Avenue, west of 103 Street.
Jasper Avenue
RHE has partnered with Mac’s Convenience Store to provide late night washroom access at the Jasper Avenue & 117 Street location.
Temporary washrooms are provided May through October.
Historical placement of washrooms are:
- Alleyway of “The Pint” on 109 Street and south of Jasper Avenue.
- Beside the 107 Street LRT entrance on the north side of Jasper Avenue.
